How to Install IIS Admin Service

nternet Information Server (IIS) is used by hosting companies to store and serve websites for clients and readers. It supplies security for the domain, and it is part of the Windows operating system. But typical installations do not automatically install IIS. If you did not select IIS for installation when setting up your computer, you can install it through the Windows Control Panel.

  1. Step 1

    Click the "Start" button and select "Settings."

  2. Step 2

    Double click the "Control Panel" icon.

  3. Step 3

    Double click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon. This opens a window that lists the currently installed software.

  4. Step 4

    Click "Add/Remove Windows Components." This opens a screen with all the current internal operating system software.

  5. Step 5

    Click "Internet Information Services." This opens the installation wizard.

  6. Step 6

    Click the "Next" button. The installation begins. It should take only take a few minutes to install IIS.

  7. Step 7

    Click the "Finish" button. This closes the wizard window.

  8. Step 8

    Click the "OK" button. This closes the "Add/Remove Programs" window.
